Gleyber of love

Gleyber Torres has looked pretty good at shortstop this spring and he made a charging play and strong throw to first on a slow grounder by Jonathan Davis in the bottom of the sixth of the Yankees’ over the Blue Jays.

Catching up

After a torrid start to spring, Gary Sanchez is 1-for-12 with five strikeouts in his last four games. He also committed his first passed ball on Wednesday.

Caught my eye

In his Zoom call with reporters, Clint Frazier wore a Mickey Mantle T-shirt. “I just found out he was a switch-hitter,” he said. “I didn’t know that until I read the shirt.”

Thursday’s schedule

The Yankees have their last scheduled off day of the spring. Corey Kluber will throw a simulated game at the Player Development Complex in Tampa to stay on schedule for the regular season.
