Police footage shows chaotic aftermath of Breonna Taylor shooting

New body camera footage shows the chaos that unfolded on the night Breonna Taylor was killed by police — and how her boyfriend sobbed to officers that his girlfriend was dead.

“There’s somebody in there dead?” fired Louisville Metro Police Department Detective Brett Hankison barked at Taylor’s boyfriend Kenneth Walker as he knelt before police outside of the EMT’s home, wailing, according to WDRB, which obtained the footage.

“Yeah, my girlfriend,” Walker sobbed in response.

“It was her house.”

The footage shows the aftermath of Taylor’s killing in the early hours of March 13 and the moment Walker explained to police they’d shot his girlfriend as he demanded to know what he’d done. It’s part of the LMPD’s investigation that was handed over to Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, the outlet reported.

The video shows Walker barefoot outside the home, walking backwards with his hands over his head as officers threaten to sic a K9 on him if he doesn’t comply.

“Walk straight back or I’ll send this dog on you!” an officer can be heard shouting in the video. “Walk back to my voice!”

The video shows Walker telling police that Taylor shot at them because she was “scared,” a statement he later reversed, the outlet reported.
