A plainclothes NYPD cop was shot in the Bronx on Tuesday night, police sources said.
The male officer, assigned to the Gun Violence Suppression Division, was struck in the back in the shooting near Lafayette Avenue and White Plains Road in Soundview at about 10:30 p.m., sources said.
One person was in custody, and a gun was recovered under a vehicle near the scene, sources said.
The wounded cop was taken in a police vehicle to Jacobi Hospital. He is expected to survive, sources said.
