Eagles turn up the pressure on Zach Wilson, Jets’ offensive line

Observations from Jets training camp on Tuesday.

Moore of that

Rookie receiver Elijah Moore (quad) returned to practice after missing nearly two weeks and connected on a nifty 30-yard sideline route with Zach Wilson. “I was making [the defender] believe I was running a post. As soon as I gave him eyes, he played a little inside, and I knew I had room to go outside. Zach threw a good ball, and I kept my feet in,” Moore said.

Now that hurts!

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts danced in end zone after tossing a 1-yard TD pass to Jalen Reagor in a two-minute drill late in Tuesday’s joint practice. The TD was set up by a pass interference call on Jets cornerback Bryce Hall.

Caught my eye

It was impossible to miss how much penetration the Eagles’ defense consistently managed against the Jets’ offensive line. Head coach Robert Saleh reiterated he isn’t concerned about his team’s pass protection, despite what would have been at least five sacks of Wilson by the Eagles.

Zach Wilson’s day

The rookie unofficially completed 10-of-14 passes in 11 vs. 11, but he was pressured into a few poor throws and strip-sacked early in practice. The first-team offense also went three-and-out on its final possession in two-minute drills.

Medical report

LT Mekhi Becton left practice early to be checked for a head injury. CB Brandin Echols limped off late in practice after landing awkwardly on his hip. Moore (quad) and G Alijah Vera-Tucker (pectoral) returned to team drills. WR Denzel Mims (hip), TE Ryan Griffin (hamstring) and DT Sheldon Rankins (leg) remain out.
