Adam Sandler Shares His Love for “The Boosh” in New Steve Buscemi Song

Adam Sandler is famous for his comedy, but he also knows his way around a guitar (“The Hanukkah Song,” anyone?). Yesterday, the Sandman put his musical skills to the use and treated us and his good friend and frequent collaborator, Steve Buscemi, to a personalized song all about Buscemi’s many characters over the years as part of the Fireside Chat With Steve Buscemi charity livestream, Vulture reports.

While the full livestream clocks in at over two hours, Sandler delivered his original song toward the very end, around the 2:08:00 mark. Beginning with the lyrics, “I would do anything for Steve Buscemi, and he would do anything for me,” Sandler launched into a tribute to Buscemi’s best roles, from a cameo in The Wedding Singer to his whacky eyes in Mr. Deeds.

“He played a werewolf not once, but twice / But nice ones, so you’re not in any danger / He was a homeless guy in Big Daddy / and everyone’s favorite Lone Ranger,” Sandler sang as photos of Buscemi in character flashed across the screen. “He was my favorite character on The Sopranos / I was so sad when Tony Soprano shot him.”

Sandler continued with references to Buscemi’s parts in Grown Ups and Billy Madison, adding, “He went down a zipline hanging just by his feet / And wound up in a full-body cast / And even though I made fun of him in high school / He still shot Bradley Whitford in the ass.”

Sandler’s bit was an unexpected treat for Buscemi, who rounded up some of his famous friends to take part in the livestream and raise money for the organization Friends of Firefighters. Along with Sandler and his guitar, Buscemi also invited Judd Apatow, Chris Rock, Kevin James, Julie Bowen, Rob Schneider, Kenan Thompson, and Colin Quinn, who together raised over $150,000 for the cause.

Aside from the Steve Buscemi song, Fireside Chat also featured Saturday Night Live alums like Thompson and Rock looking back at their all-time favorite skits on the show, and Buscemi and Sandler breaking down their favorite roles and moments from Sandler‘s movies.
